Citizen’s Bank Donates Wreath for Ronald McDonald Family Room at Memorial Medical Center
December 20, 2019
Citizens Bank of Las Cruces created an internal contest of a home-made wreath, to spread holiday cheer. The winner of the contest would be able to display their wreath in the Ronald McDonald room at Memorial Medical Center.
When asked how they chose where the winning wreath would be displayed Toni Kinstley from Citizens Support Services said, “It was a unanimous vote when the name came up”. Studies have shown that children heal faster when surrounded by family. To support a charity that supports programs and services that directly improve the health of children in this community makes this an easy decision.
The Ronald McDonald Family Room at Memorial Medical Center provides a comfortable space for families to rest and recharge within the hospital and is just steps away from their child’s treatment room. Families and guests of pediatric patients can visit the Family room to enjoy a snack, beverage, computer access, make phone calls, talk to other families or just relax. At the Family Room, parents can find comfort so they can be strong support for their child.
The Ronald McDonald room was established by Ronald McDonald House of Charities of El Paso. Since 1984 this charity has been providing “a home away from home” for hundreds of families with seriously ill children who are undergoing treatment in nearby hospitals.
Thank you to Citizens Bank of Las Cruces for the beautiful hand-made wreath that is displayed on the door of Memorials Ronald McDonald room.
