At Memorial Medical Center, we are devoted to helping patients heal mentally and emotionally by providing exceptional, evidence-based behavioral healthcare that improves the lives of those needing support.

Our 12-bed behavioral health unit provides dedicated, inpatient care for adults age 18-65. Our unit offers 24-hour supervised psychiatric treatment and crisis support.

To contact the Behavioral Health Unit, please call 575.521.2215. Due to patient confidentiality, callers will be asked for a unique ID number that is provided to every patient on our Behavioral Health Unit.

Inpatient Services

Patients will receive compassionate and comprehensive mental healthcare, in a safe and therapeutic setting.

Services include:

24/7 clinical support from licensed behavioral health professionals
24/7 medically staffed environment for continuous patient monitoring
Crisis stabilization
Discharge planning
Group counseling
Individual therapy
Medication management
Recreational therapy

What We Treat

Treatment is individualized to each person's needs and delivered with compassion by a care team of experienced professionals. We treat a wide range of mental health concerns including, among other things:

Anxiety
Depression
Irritability/Agitation
Psychosis
Stress
Thoughts of harm to self or others

Admission Criteria

Adults 18-65 experiencing the following may be eligible:

Auditory and visual hallucinations
Behavioral changes related to medications
Depression and anxiety
Difficulty managing daily activities due to mental health concerns
Excessive isolation
False beliefs, paranoia and/or delusional thoughts
Feelings of loneliness, worthlessness or hopelessness
Increase or decrease in appetite or sleep
Prolonged emotional issues after a major life event
Thoughts of harm to self or others
Trouble concentrating
