Help Our Facility And Community Stay Safe: Measles Guidance For Visits
April 15, 2025

For the health and safety of others as we work to protect our facility and community against measles, we are asking patient and visitors to not enter our hospital or clinics if they:
• Have a fever higher than 101, and
• Are experiencing a rash, and
• Are not vaccinated against the measles
If you arrive at the main hospital campus, please stay in your vehicle and call 575-556-6343. Our Emergency Department team will assist you while using the proper precautions.
If you are at an off-campus facility or clinic, please drive to our Emergency Department (2450 S. Telshor Blvd.) and follow the steps outlined above.
We want our community to know that our team is well-trained to manage viruses and infectious diseases of all kinds, and it is safe to come to our hospital for care. We are continuing to follow guidance from the health department and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), as well as our standard operating protocols that are in place year-round to help ensure the health and well-being of all who walk through our doors.
Measles is a highly contagious virus that spreads through the air. It can cause fever, cough, runny nose, red eyes, and a rash that spreads over the body. Serious complications can occur, including pneumonia, brain swelling, and even death.
The best way to prevent getting sick is to be immunized against measles. Two doses of the MMR (measles, mumps, rubella) vaccine are highly effective at preventing measles.
