Dennis Knox named CEO of Memorial Medical Center

Las Cruces, NM (January 24, 2024) — Memorial Medical Center, a Lifepoint Health hospital, announced that Dennis Knox has been named its new chief executive officer (CEO), effective immediately. Knox has served as interim CEO since August 2024, bringing extensive experience in healthcare leadership and operational management.
“Dennis has been a steady and effective leader during his interim tenure at Memorial Medical Center,” said Jen Alderfer, president of Lifepoint Health’s western division. “He has shown a genuine commitment to supporting our patients, staff, and community, and I am confident he will continue to drive the hospital forward in meaningful ways.”
With more than 40 years of healthcare leadership experience, Knox brings a people-centered approach to his role. He is deeply focused on fostering an environment where patients and families feel supported, and employees are empowered to provide the best possible care. Throughout his career, Knox has prioritized collaboration and building meaningful relationships, ensuring that healthcare services are aligned with the unique needs of each community he serves.

Knox holds a master’s degree in health administration and a bachelor’s degree in management science from Duke University. A Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE), he is actively involved in initiatives that improve healthcare access and support rural communities.
