About Memorial Medical Center
Memorial Medical Center is a 199-bed acute medical/surgical teaching hospital located in sunny Las Cruces, New Mexico with a population of 110,000 and a service area population of 300,000. The city is known for its safe and affordable living conditions, beautiful scenery, outstanding educational system, friendly people and high quality health care. It is just 40 minutes from El Paso (metro population of 800,000), and El Paso International Airport with connections to worldwide destinations. For education, Las Cruces is the home of New Mexico State University, the Burrell College of Osteopathic Medicine, Doña Ana Community College and outstanding K-12 schools.
Memorial is rapidly transitioning into Southern New Mexico’s major regional referral center, receiving daily transfers from five smaller hospitals in its secondary service area. It has a medical staff composed of nearly 400 providers and a broad cross-section of hospital-based and freestanding services. The hospital sits at the base of the picturesque Organ Mountains and is nearby to the famous Rio Grande. Las Cruces features outstanding high-desert living conditions, with hiking mere minutes from Las Cruces and snow skiing less than two hours away in forest-covered mountains. To the west, the Gila Mountains offer a wonderful getaway full of outdoor adventures. The beautiful capital of Santa Fe, scenic and rich in culture and history, is only four hours away.
A LifePoint Health facility, Memorial is known for its high quality, safe care. It is the recent recipient of the High Five Guiding Principles Award as the top performing hospital of the 87 hospitals in the LifePoint portfolio. Memorial features a multitude of service lines delivered by well-rounded providers and staff. These include open-heart surgery, general and robotic surgery, weight loss and heartburn programs, colorectal surgery, OB/GYN services, interventional radiology, a comprehensive freestanding cancer center, a level IV trauma center, an active 11 surgical suite surgery department, the region’s only PICU, an ASC composed of 6 surgical suites and radiology services, a 32-bed ICU, 10-bed CCU, 18 freestanding physician clinics, two outpatient imaging centers, an ER that sees 32,000 patients a year, and a new surgical robot -- to name just some of the outstanding services.

Weather: Las Cruces enjoys 350 days of sunshine a year. Temperatures in the summer months routinely reach the high 90s, with nighttime lows in the 60s. The fall air is a bit cooler with daytime highs of mid 70s to low 80s. During the winter, when northern states are digging themselves out from under snow and ice, Las Cruces basks in daytime temperatures ranging from the upper 50s to lower 60s. As spring arrives in March and April, temperatures climb steadily from the low to high 80s. Las Cruces receives an average of 8.5 inches of rain per year and less than 2 inches of snow in the winter.
Cost of Living: Overall, the cost of living in Las Cruces is 3% below the national average. Housing is 12% less than the national average, and many new developments are being built. The cost for healthcare and utilities are on par with national averages, and lower than many Western states.

K-12 Public Schools: Las Cruces Public Schools serves approximately 25,000 students and employs 3,200 people. LCPS is the second-largest school district in the state and comprised of:
