Anticoagulation Management
Anticoagulation Management Services Clinic
Did you know that Memorial Medical Center offers anticoagulation management services? Our Anticoagulation Management Services (also referred to as “AMS”) is an outpatient clinic comprised of a nurse practitioners and registered nurses that specialize in anticoagulants (also sometimes referred to as blood thinners) management for people who have blood clotting problems due to thrombosis or other disorders that increase the likelihood of blood clots-including atrial fibrillation, cardiovascular disease and stroke.
Allowing MMC to perform your anticoagulation management needs allows you and your Cardiologist or Primary Care Providers more time to discuss your needs rather than spending the bulk of your appointment dealing with something that could be handled in a brief, outpatient appointment!
The AMS clinic also provides perioperative anticoagulation management (also referred to as “bridging therapy”) to individuals on medications such as Warfarin (Coumadin) that need to undergo surgery.
A physician referral is required to make an appointment, so please be sure to ask your Cardiologist or Primary Care Provider.
